Our mission is to offer a home-like setting where seniors, together with the help of a caring and professional team, can pursue their cultural, physical, and spiritual needs.
The Management Team is led by the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for carrying out the board's strategic direction, our vision and mission. Together, with our Administration, Nursing, Housekeeping and Facilities Teams, we work hard to ensure that the care and residential needs of our seniors are met.

Jerry is a retired Doctor of Chiropractic and was previously in active practice for over 30 years in Saskatchewan and Ontario. He have served on numerous boards as a director and presently serve as President of the Board, Sts. Peter & Paul Seniors Residence and in the past on the Ontario Chiropractic Association. He is a former Professor and Chair of the Diagnosis Department of the Southern California University of Health Sciences and a Chiropractic Clinical Specialist with the College of Chiropractic Sciences. Hobbies: plays the accordion, clarinet and saxaphone and enjoys antique map collecting, fishing and travelling.
Is a retired banker/financier. She has been a volunteer at SPPR for decades and is presently the vice president of the board. She enjoys singing in the church choir and is a member of a singing trio that performs extensively.
Dennis Levesque came to us from the Canadian Armed Forces, where he served for 37 years as a Tactical Helicopter Pilot and Staff Officer. During his final flying tour as the Commanding Officer of 400 Tactical Helicopter Squadron in Borden he commanded the aviation component consisting of 250 personnel and 26 helicopters in support of the Vancouver Olympics and the G7/G20 Summits. Retiring in 2014, Dennis brought his operational planning and leadership skills to SPPR, where he first facilitated the Board’s strategic planning, and then filled the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). As the CAO, Dennis oversaw the mid-life modernization of the building and successfully prevented COVID-19 from entering the building for the first two years of the pandemic. Dennis retired in February 2022 and is currently the Secretary for the Board of Directors. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics.
Raymond (Roman) Beley retired from CBC Television after 32 years of service, first as a videotape editor, then as a Technical Producer, and finally as Senior Manager of Production at the Broadcasting Centre in Toronto. He was previously on the board of SPPR from 2007 to 2016 (seven years as Secretary), then rejoined the board in 2020. Roman has been a member of, and on the board of the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America since 2005 (1st VP for 8 years). Since 2012, on four occasions, he was a long and short-term election observer for Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Ukraine. Hobbies: music, golf, photography, reading, technology and tinkering.
Mary has many years of experience as an executive assistant in the corporate world. Most recently, she was assistant to the President and CEO of Torstar Corporation, a broadly-based media company, providing senior level administrative support, often dealing with very sensitive and confidential matters. Mary is currently a board member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Community Homes, and has held this position for the past 10 years. Mary is also an executive director and secretary of the Pickering Horticultural Society and has been a mentor for the City of Pickering’s annual “Pickering in Blooms” initiative. In the past, she has worked as a volunteer with The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, Children’s Wish Foundation, and Breakfast with Santa Foundation. Interests include: gardening, photography, interior design, golfing.
Andy Balaura is a partner with the law firm of Pallett Valo LLP, the largest law firm in Peel Region. Andy has been with the firm since his call to the bar in 2002 and is currently the head of the firm’s Employment & Labour Practice Group. With a focus on representing business and corporations, he provides strategic and practical advice on all aspects of the employment relationship. He has extensive experience conducting wrongful dismissal and human rights litigation, drafting employment agreements and policies, and advising on a wide range of human resource and labour board matters. He also conducts workplace investigations and is a frequent presenter on a variety of employment-related topics. Andy’s employment clients include a number of charitable and not-for-profit organizations. His governance experience includes being a past director of the Distress Centre of Peel and the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra. Andy is an active member of the Ukrainian community. He is a founding executive member and Treasurer of the Ukrainian Canadian Bar Association. He is also a director of the SUS Foundation of Canada. When he isn’t practicing law, he can often be found chauffeuring his kids to and from Ukrainian dance classes, bandura lessons, and PLAST youth group activities.
Terry Is a retired Professor and former Director of Marketing/Communications at Durham College/University of Ontario Institute of Technology. He lives in the country and enjoys outdoor living. Terry is past chair of SPPR and has been on the board for 12 years.
Successful onion farm in the Holland Marsh. Horodynsky Farms have been producing onions for over forty years and built a reputation as being one of the nation’s premier suppliers of onions. Boris has been a Board member for past 6 years. His mother is a resident. He is active in the Bradford/West Gwillimbury Community and a generous donor. He builds his own machinery and has a sawmill at his farm.
Valentina is a young professional from Ukraine who has been in Canada for about 10 years. She did her research on SPPR before I interviewed her. She is interested in working with seniors and hopes she can provide positive changes to the residence. Her background includes marketing, pharmacy, client/patient care. She is Team Lead, Community Engagement at The Catholic Community Services of York Region.
Bohdan is the founder of Wild Orchard Asset Management Inc. Since 2015, he has been combining his passion for the markets and deal-making into a private investment firm focused on long-term hard asset investing and short-term US derivatives trading. He has completed over a dozen real estate and private business transactions in 4 countries over that period. Bohdan has also been involved in the third-party logistics and trucking space since 2010. He has started multiple offices in the Greater Toronto Area under Rome Transportation Inc. and has been responsible for hiring and developing the sales and support teams while managing his own book of business. He is still the Branch Manager of the Pickering office today. Bohdan enjoys spending his free time travelling and learning new things with his wife and 3 children. He is an avid musician playing keys, guitar, bass, singing backing vocals, and writing songs for a current recording project with a band in Toronto. In the past, he was also an active member of the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America for over a decade as a bandurist.
