RN/RPN

EDUCATION

Diploma from recognized college, university, School of Nursing   POSITION SUMMARY Practices as a member of Nursing Team, gives professional nursing care to the residents   


DUTIES 

  • Provide direct resident care plans by performing basic nursing skills in compliance with the current standards of practice for registered practical nurses as specified by the College of Nurses in Ontario 
  • Evaluate the outcomes of nursing interventions recognizing symptoms indicative of the resident’s adverse reaction to treatment. Reports to R.N. & documents such information in Resident’s record to ensure continuity of care 
  • Confer with other health care team members as necessary 
  • Administrates medications, completes documentation for the administered medication 
  • Performs/assists residents & activities of daily living 
  • Ensure medical care implemented as prescribed by physician 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Maintains accurate nursing records Effectively handles emergencies Provides nursing care in accordance with the resident care plans Maintains safekeeping of all drugs Administers drugs Supervises the nursing care given by HCA in accordance with resident care plans Confer with other health care staff Process physician’s orders may take orders on the phone Participates in the planning of Care     


QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Must posses a current provincial Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses 
  • Experience in retirement or long-term care setting 
  • Must have current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate 
  • Administration of medication 
  • Must be able to communicate in English including written documentation 
  • Second language is an asset 
  • Must be able to work independently 
  • Must be of good health & free from communicable diseases 
  • Acting as member of the nursing team. Adjusts resident care as necessary to accommodate resident’s changing status 
  • Collects data from residents reporting such data to the R.N. and documenting this information appropriately 
  • Complies with regulations, WSIB, Human Rights, College of Nurses standards, WHMIS 
  • Monitors resident meals

   

WORKING CONDITIONS 

May work shifts that include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays May be required to lift immobile resident weighing up to 25kg. Must be familiar with ORCA, regulated Health Professions Act

PSW

EDUCATION  

An accredited Health Care Certificate Related work experience  POSITION SUMMARY Under supervision of Registered Nurse. Duties are performed in accordance with established policies & procedures which promotes maximum personal and functional independence   


DUTIES 

  • May assist residents with personal care needs: basic nursing care procedures 
  • Answer call signals 
  • Assist resident with dressing, eating, toileting, bathing & grooming (personal hygiene) 
  • Repositioning 
  • Reporting changes in resident’s physical, mental, emotional conditions to the  
  • Assists resident to & from dining room
  • Transfer residents in/out, to/from wheelchair using one person or two people or mechanical lift
  • Collects specimens (urine, stool) from residents 
  • Ensures personal items are marked, putting away laundry 
  • Make beds as needed
  •  Transfer of residents to and from activities 
  • Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to Administrator 
  • Removing/changing soiled linens 
  • Puts TED stockings before breakfast  


QUALIFICATIONS 

One year experience in a 

health-care environment Health care/PSW certificate Annual CPR renewal     


WORKING CONDITIONS

 There is considerable physical activity, prolonged standing and walking, lifting and moving residents, equipment ant supplies. HCA may be required to lift items up to 25 kg. Some knowledge of body mechanics & proper lifting techniques. Stress associated with dealing with resident care. May be exposed to hazards of cleaners, equipment and detergents. Assist in prevention of environmental hazards (i.e. wiping of spill, in absence of housekeeping staff Assist resident

HOUSEKEEPING

We are looking to hire a housekeeper to join our cleaning team. You will be responsible for cleaning rooms and common areas, disposing of trash, changing beds, and notifying maintenance of any issues. You should be able to lift 25 pounds and have an eye for cleanliness.


EDUCATION  

High School Diploma   


DUTIES 

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall tidiness of residential spaces. Their primary duties include tasks like:

  • Dusting
  • Collecting and disposing of trash.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping & mopping
  • Disinfecting different areas of the building
  • Properly cleaning upholstered furniture.
  • Also ensure all rooms meet standards.
  • Protect equipment
  •  Notifying managers of necessary repairs 
  • Promptly address any issues or complaints with professionalism and patience


Overall, your goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our residents 


QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Ability to manage your time efficiently.
  • Work well unsupervised.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Handle basic maintenance and cleaning.
  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with hotel guests.
  • Hard worker.
