The Apartment Wing has 150 units designed for total independent living. There are 141 one-bedroom and 9 two-bedroom apartments.

NOTE: The Apartment Wing has 92 of the 150 units dedicated to Toronto's Social Housing Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) Program. To qualify for these subsidized one-bedroom units, you must apply through Housing Connections.
The Assisted Living Wing has 62 fully furnished units, with options for a shared or private washroom. The units can also be rented on a Short-Term-Stay basis.

TITLE: HEALTH CARE AIDE
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CARE EDUCATION An accredited Health Care Certificate Related work experience POSITION SUMMARY Under supervision of Registered Nurse. Duties are performed in accordance with established policies & procedures which promotes maximum personal and functional independence DUTIES 1) May assist residents with personal care needs: basic nursing care procedures 2) Answer call signals 3) Assist resident with dressing, eating, toileting, bathing & grooming (personal hygiene) 4) Repositioning 5) Reporting changes in resident’s physical, mental, emotional conditions to the 6) Assists resident to & from dining room 7) Transfer residents in/out, to/from wheelchair using one person or two people or mechanical lift 8) Collects specimens (urine, stool) from residents 9) Ensures personal items are marked, putting away laundry 10) Make beds as needed 11) Transfer of residents to and from activities 12) Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to Administrator 13) Removing/changing soiled linens 14) Puts TED stockings before breakfast QUALIFICATIONS One year experience in a health-care environment Health care/PSW certificate Annual CPR renewal WORKING CONDITIONS There is considerable physical activity, prolonged standing and walking, lifting and moving residents, equipment ant supplies. HCA may be required to lift items up to 25 kg. Some knowledge of body mechanics & proper lifting techniques. Stress associated with dealing with resident care. May be exposed to hazards of cleaners, equipment and detergents. TITLE: REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSES
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CARE EDUCATION Diploma from recognized college, university, School of Nursing POSITION SUMMARY Practices as a member of Nursing Team, gives professional nursing care to the residents DUTIES 1) Provide direct resident care plans by performing basic nursing skills in compliance with the current standards of practice for registered practical nurses as specified by the College of Nurses in Ontario 2) Evaluate the outcomes of nursing interventions recognizing symptoms indicative of the resident’s adverse reaction to treatment. Reports to R.N. & documents such information in Resident’s record to ensure continuity of care 3) Confer with other health care team members as necessary 4) Administrates medications, completes documentation for the administered medication 5) Performs/assists residents & activities of daily living 6) Ensure medical care implemented as prescribed by physician KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains accurate nursing records Effectively handles emergencies Provides nursing care in accordance with the resident care plans Maintains safekeeping of all drugs Administers drugs Supervises the nursing care given by HCA in accordance with resident care plans Confer with other health care staff Process physician’s orders may take orders on the phone Participates in the planning of Care QUALIFICATIONS 1) Must posses a current provincial Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses 2) Experience in retirement or long-term care setting 3) Must have current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate 4) Administration of medication 5) Must be able to communicate in English including written documentation 6) Second language is an asset 7) Must be able to work independently 8) Must be of good health & free from communicable diseases 9) Acting as member of the nursing team. Adjusts resident care as necessary to accommodate resident’s changing status 10) Collects data from residents reporting such data to the R.N. and documenting this information appropriately 11) Complies with regulations, WSIB, Human Rights, College of Nurses standards, WHMIS 12) Monitors resident meals WORKING CONDITIONS May work shifts that include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays May be required to lift immobile resident weighing up to 25kg.
